From the inside cover:

Aerial agriculture in Australia tells the story of the role of aircraft have played in agriculture and forestry in Australia over a period of more than 60 years. Produced with the full cooperation of the aerial agricultural association of Australia, it describes the history of each aspect of aerial agriculture, from pasture improvement to firebombing, from weed control to rain making. In fact the reader may be surprised at the wide way range of operations covered by the term aerial agriculture. Illustrated with 138 black and white and 60 colour photographs, aerial agriculture in Australia is the product of 12 years of research throughout Australia by the author. Although starting in 1930 with an R AAF Westland Wapiti and a modified RAAF DH60 moth, commercial operations relying mainly on modified DH IT2A tiger moth aircraft, did not begin until 1947. This book follows the development of agricultural aircraft through to today's sophisticated turbine- powered aircraft, some costing $1,000,000 and guided by the latest GPS navigation aids. The human side of the industry is also well- covered, through the recollections and anecdotes of those involved. Without the pilots and support crews, the industry would literally not have got off the ground.
