McIntyre's travels throughout the Pacific included Fiji, Tahiti, Mexico, Hawaii, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, New Guinea, his New Zealand home, and Antarctica. As he travelled he painted, and his palette and technique responded with vitality and delight to the people and the places he encountered.
